This beautiful mushroom is on the Red List in the Netherlands, which means it is rare and protected, so you can grow it but not pick it? Unfortunately, the dead beech wood on which this mushroom prefers to grow is too often cleared.
Distribution: North America, Europe, China and Japan.
Grows on beech, oak, walnut, maple and other hardwoods.
Preparation and taste: Young ones taste excellent and pair well with garlic, onion and almonds.
Adding a little butter at the end of cooking brings out the flavor of lobster.
There is also evidence of tumor and inflammation inhibition in this species.
