Grows naturally on oak and beech in temperate regions of China and Japan.
For log cultivation: hardwoods such as oak, beech, chestnut, maple, poplar and alder.
Substrate: wood chips of the aforementioned tree species.
Do not use coating when growing on wood chips, Nameko's hat is sticky and soil will stick to it, the stickiness disappears after preparation.Note: Nameko likes a lot of moisture, so partially bury the logs in the ground horizontally (see stem cultivation)
